The Estates at Buffalo Ridge is a small, gated enclave of roughly 88 custom homes bordering The Ridge at Castle Pines golf course, inside the City of Castle Pines in Douglas County. Great Colorado Homes has represented Front Range buyers since 2012 and guided more than $350 million in local home sales, and we help buyers assess the few listings that surface in small golf-course enclaves like this.
Most homes were built between 2003 and 2013 and sell well into the seven-figure range, so the listing feed above is the truest read on current pricing and availability. With only 88 homes total and a few lots still vacant, resale inventory is thin. Buyers who want a specific floor plan, golf exposure, or cul-de-sac position often wait months for the right match.
The draw is a private, gated golf-course setting with buried utilities throughout. Homes line Buffalo Ridge Road and two short cul-de-sacs, Buffalo Ridge Way and Buffalo Ridge Court, so the community stays compact and quiet. Many lots back to a fairway or a greenbelt, and the western-facing homes capture Front Range and Pikes Peak views that stretch from downtown Denver to the Denver Tech Center.
Buyers usually weigh this neighborhood against other Castle Pines communities, especially The Canyons and the broader Castle Pines North master-planned area. The trade here is custom-home character and golf exposure against newer construction and different HOA structures. If you are relocating from outside Colorado, our moving to Colorado guide covers the statewide details that affect a purchase like this.
The Estates at Buffalo Ridge HOA, managed by Hammersmith Management, runs the gated entry along with the pool and clubhouse at 1135 Buffalo Ridge Road. Monthly dues have run near $205 in recent listings. The community also falls under the Castle Pines North Master Association, so expect two layers of HOA documents and fees.
We always pull the reserve study and the current dues schedule before comparing monthly carrying costs. A golf-course community's reserves tell you a lot about future special assessments.
Homes here are custom-built from 2003 through 2013, mostly two-story and ranch plans ranging from roughly 4,500 to 7,000 finished square feet, with three- and four-car garages. Lots typically run about a fifth to a third of an acre, with a handful of larger estate lots. Many homes back to The Ridge at Castle Pines course, and the exposure matters. When I tour homes here, I check the lot's position relative to the golf course. A home facing the 7th tee plays differently than one backed to the 9th hole or a greenbelt, and that exposure changes both the view and the odds of a golf ball in the yard.
Students in the neighborhood attend schools in the Douglas County School District, with Timber Trail Elementary, Rocky Heights Middle School, and Rock Canyon High School as the typical path. Boundaries can shift, so confirm the address with the district before you plan around a specific campus. Estates at Buffalo Ridge is also part of the larger Castle Pines North master-planned community, which shapes the roads and shared amenities in the area.
Most buyers shopping this neighborhood also look at The Canyons and other Castle Pines enclaves, then widen to Castle Rock for more inventory and Douglas County options overall. Castle Pines stays compact and golf-focused, while Castle Rock opens up more price points and newer construction. The open-space trails along the ridge give residents a quick escape for hiking and views, and I-25 gives a direct route north to the Denver Tech Center and downtown Denver. For medical care, Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree and AdventHealth Castle Rock are both close by.
This part of Castle Pines has documented wildfire exposure. The neighborhood is surrounded by Gambel oak, and the City of Castle Pines classifies it as at risk, as the Cherokee Ranch Fire threatened the area in October 2003. South Metro Fire Rescue Station 36 on East Castle Pines Parkway is the first-due crew. I look at the oak on the lot lines during showings, because it is part of the setting buyers love and the fuel firefighters flag in the neighborhood mitigation plan.
Radon is common across Douglas County homes, so test for it early. Custom homes from this era also warrant a careful roof and exterior review, especially after Front Range hail seasons.
